XF 2.3 Enabling email notifications by default

Hey guys,
Unless Im mistaken it seem this option is disabled by default, which means my members arent receiving email notifications for upcoming events. Is there any way to force this to ON - at least to begin with, by default?

If members are creating an account through Connected Accounts, the option to receive newsteller and activity summary will not be marked by default. Every day I have to edit all new members and check these options if they created an account through Google.

That sounds like a bug. I believe it should follow the default values even when using connected accounts. Have you reported it?
