Error when trying to activate an RSS feed

The address of the RSS starts with feed://... but XenForo immediately tells me to provide a valid URL (?).

If I change "feed" to "html", it accepts the address but returns the message DOMDocument cannot parse XML: xmlParseEntityRef: no name when trying to preview the feed entry.

The complete address to the feed is feed://www.scooternorge.no/nettside/index.php?format=feed&type=rss
Why doesn't XenForo accept feed:// ... but instead says OK to html:// ... ?

And why doesn't this particular feed work at all? It seems fine on the originating page.

Feed isn't a valid, generally known protocol. http would work.

But more significantly, their feed is actually invalid XML: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check....ge.no/nettside/index.php?format=feed&type=rss
