There was a bug report about this, but the problem is that if you make this dynamic, it would lose consistency between positions (there are 3, with 2 of them essentially being identical aside from where they are relative to the message). Clearly that doesn't come up in all cases, but this is also actually part of the generic fields framework so this is general purpose, though we could override if necessary.
