Emails through contact form use site's address on reply

I've noticed that whenever I receive an email through the contact form and try to reply, it tries to send it to my email address instead of the original sender's. I can still get their address because it shows in the email body ("sent from name (email)" or whatever it says), but is there a way to get it to use their email automatically?

Do you have your options set up correctly?

Responding to an email sent via the Contact Us form on my site uses the sender's email address.

What are you using to send email and which email client are you using?

Is there an option for that? It's not because I have the support email listed under Default Email Address, is it?

I use Thunderbird for sending and receiving emails, and the original email came through the site contact form, if that helps.

I don't have this problem on my forum. When I receive "Contact Us" emails the From address is that of the user who submitted the contact form. And my email client uses that address when I send a reply.
