XF 1.5 Email notifications being sent only after several weeks

On one of my forums, a notification for a thread posted in Watched forum was sent to some members several weeks late.

I (admin) was watching that forum and received the notification of a thread posted on Aug 31 on Aug 31 as expected.

However I also have a test account there, and that account received the notification (for the same thread) yesterday. I also got an email from a member saying they got the notification yesterday.

Can anyone shed any light on what might be going on?

For that test account, can you show the raw headers from the email? That may help determine where a delay is happening, though a delay of over a month is very odd.

Have you had any server errors logged recently that may be related?

No server errors, in fact until today I haven't logged in to that forum for weeks.

Is it OK to send you the raw header via conversation, email addresses in there to be harvested otherwise.
