XF 1.2 Editing a thread idles at 'connecting'

When our users (including myself as admin) edits our own thread and then clicks 'save changes' it goes to a blank screen but up in browsers tab the circle continues in motion and says 'connecting....'

I have checked server logs but nothing shows, this has happened since we upgraded from 1.1.5 to 1.2.2.
