We are having some slight problems when you edit a post. It still allows you to scroll up and down the page so the edit post windows disappears and when you scroll back, the window comes back onto the screen. Is there anyway we can disable scrolling when editing a post or make it so you are taken to a new screen when you click edit post.

There is an option that controls whether inline editing is supported.

However what you're describing doesn't sound quite right.

We do actually have a mechanism to make it so that overlays are no longer fixed once the overlay has exceeded a certain height.

If this is triggering by default then it could indicate you have changed something here. Maybe the editor height? Or added some additional controls? It could also be something that's part of a custom style.

It might be worth trying to reproduce it on a fully unedited default XF style with all add ons disabled to rule out anything here.

I have now fixed this, all I had to do was disable overlays.

Disable the overlays means basically that all overlays are disabled. Is there like an option to disable just a certain overlay like the edit-post function?

There is specifically an option to disable message editing inline.

Look for "Enable Inline Editing of Messages" in the Admin CP search.
