I’ve seen some XenForo forums with e-commerce features such as purchasing a subscription for a certain group in the forum etc. I was wondering how is that done since I don’t see any e-commerce packages that can be bought directly from XenForo

I haven't bought yet but I come from IP Board and they have e-commerce features as an extra package. for XenForo does it come with the default software as in no extra plugins needed?

It’s not e-commerce but you can charge for user account upgrades to different groups.

I recommend you start a demo and look up account upgrades. You can sell subscriptions to users there.

Only thing you can't do on the demo is install themes or add-ons/plugins. The demo has all 1st party add-ons available (gallery, resource manager & forum).
