XF 1.2 Duplicating User Group Permissions

On vBulletin, we could create new user groups and optionally base their permissions off existing user groups. For example, we had our site owner in a separate user group called Site Owner that had the same permissions as the Administrators user group, but a different color so he could be distinguished from the other administrators.

Is this possible on XenForo?

It's not possible and not the way to do things.

Just add the member to both groups and only change the styling and display priority for the second group.
The permissions will be inherited.

If I'm understanding that correctly:

• Create a new user group called Site Owner
• Set its display priority higher than the Administrators user group
  
• Add that as a secondary user group for our owner, alongside the Administrators user group
