XF 2.2 Domain Question

I'm currently building the site on the .community.forum setup from xenForo. Once the site is built and working well I plan on moving it to the actual domain.

Is it okay to onboard test users on the test site? Will the users and content all move okay?

@Tracy Perry - Thanks! I assumed that others have done test sites and migrated which is why I asked here under questions/support.

I would think as long as it (the new site) is connected to the original database (or copy of) you should see all your users, posts, and all of that good stuff. I just moved hosts and domain names and have met with no problems, had to change some of the information in the admin area, but that was all.

Your site as it is isn't a test site, it's the actual site.

When you say "I plan on moving it to the actual domain.", do you mean you are going to connect a custom URL to your Cloud instance, or purchase a self hosted license and cancel Cloud?

Both are possible - the first is very easy and takes minutes for the DNS to propagate if the TTL is set low enough.

Neither will result in any loss of data or content.
