XF 2.2 Domain and Install Question

Hello, we just purchased a Xenforo license plus a resource manager. We are currently facing a problem. Before downloading Xenforo, our web developer filled in the wrong domain name (we are waiting for that domain to expire). Therefore, after uploading the Xenforo files to FTP, we can't connect to the FTP Xenforo folder via 1and1's temporary URL. It is confirmed that the 1and1 server meets all of Xenforo's PHP requirements.

I have a few questions I'd like to confirm and hope you can help:

1. If the inability to connect to FTP is due to the incorrect domain name entered before downloading Xenforo, can we directly modify the Xenforo files to enter the correct domain name, or do we need to go back to Xenforo/customer to fill in the domain name again and re-download the Xenforo files?

2. Since we haven't determined the final domain name yet, we want to use 1and1's temporary domain to launch Xenforo first, make content adjustments, and then switch to the new domain name afterward. Can we operate in this way? Or does each domain name change require removing the old domain name from the license and then re-downloading the Xenforo files?

Thank you in advance for your help and reply.

If you are self hosted, then the domain has nothing (other than in your license link to the domain) anything coded specific for that.
You can easily change your domain name in your XenForo license account area (not your Xenforo Forum account). You will have to do some XenForo ACP changes to reflect the new domain name.
