I'm from Belgium but host in the US. Some people tell me that it is not good because it will affect your rankings in google. But i don't find any evidence of that...
    What do you guys think?
Is it not good to take a server in another country?

doesnt make any difference now because you can tell google which country to target. This allows me to host in Canada and rank highly on New Zealand google searches.

one reason is the response time to your site.
this will be often much lower if you have a local or europe hoster. but it takes some time to find the right one because the infrastructure of the hoster is very important.
as i see your hoster has also locations in amsterdam and frankfurt...so you may can move to one of them.
