Do moderators need to know ALL moderator tools?

So let's say you have a really good moderator. He is good at solving disputes and moderating in general. But he doesn't know all the moderator tools and is unwilling to learn them.

What do you do?

Some people have difficulty with learning new functionality. Often the solution is simple. Show the person how you do it. You can do this in person, by using teamviewer, by creating a video (can be reused) or by trying to walk through by chat/IM (doesn't always work well)
In most cases people really appreciate your patience and effort you take to show them.
