Currently, \XF\Job\User is the only job (that I can find) that hard-codes its rebuild code as opposed to using the standard rebuildCounters function call.

If this was changed, it would be possible for 3rd party addons to hook into a function we know would only ever run during that job. Currently, that does not appear to be possible.
