I want this with the power of 1000 suns. SO BAD. So, I'm going to have to put my money where my mouth is. If anyone's willing to take this on I'd be happy to pay to have it developed. For reference:

Anyone can edit the wiki in the thread, not just the OP. It can be constantly added to and subtracted from and is PERFECT for long, ongoing threads where information changes constantly. Here's a good example of that:

That thread was started in 2010, and is still getting updated to this day.

Here is the original thread announcing the feature, back in 2007:

If you think you can manage it, I'd LOVE to hear from you.

I used to use a mod on vBulletin for this. I believe it was called WikiPost. Not sure what happened with the author but I believe it was based on third party code.

I thought that was only version three and four is an entirely different wiki?

I have to remember to get my vb license for vw changed to xf when it is released.

Vaultwiki does this. It has just been made compatible with xenforo as there is an online alpha version to test out:
http://xenforo.com/community/threads/vaultwiki-for-xenforo.16828/page-7
https://www.vaultwiki.org/xf/wiki/

There is a setting to just make the first or second post a wiki.

Its a alpha version and not ready for use yet. First we need to hunt for bugs.

I couldn't seem to find it. Would you mind pointing me to where this specific feature is available?

The VaultWiki 4 feature you are looking for is: wiki-in-thread.webpCurrently you can only put the wiki above the first post, but there is already an open request in the tracker to choose before or after as the location. You can choose an existing wiki page or start a new one. IIRC, the thread starter must be the one to add the wiki page to the thread, but after that anyone with wiki edit privileges can edit the content of it.

So then that is not what I'm looking for if only the OP can edit it.
