DarkTabbed [Deleted]

The new Background Rotation feature is complete, just tying up a few last steps.

I'm also excited to mention some awesome news for DarkTabbed theme - over the last few months since release, DarkTabbed has become quite popular than I expected! Due to the interest and user requests, I'm planning to heavily ramp up features and make DT a much larger flagship product.

Here's just some of the roadmap items which are already planned or underway:
  • FIRST STEP -- release the current build which includes Side by Side Nodes & Background Rotation
  • Customizable series of background textures
  • Jquery animations
  • Front page portal / landing page template
  • Feature boxes & additional slider settings
  • PrettySlider - a new fancy slideshow format I'm developing into the existing slide system. PrettySlider is a bold large-screen format that enhances the appearance and makes the slider a prominent feature on the home page. Will include background effects, animations and more. PrettySlider will only need to be switched to 'On' within admin, and it will take care of the rest for you!
  • New light style - LightTabbed will be an identical white style and share all the same features, just in inverted colors.
  • Countdown timers and other Jquery modules
  • Responsive side toolbar (floats to left or right edge of screen)
  • Video support for Nulumia Slider
  • New Presets! -- I'm also planning to include a huge new range of DarkTabbed presets, over a variety of colors, backgrounds and animations. There's already a few planned, including Splashy, Punk, Slate, Orion, and Nebula. Due to the flexibility already in DarkTabbed, these presets will offer users a variety of one-click installs for over a dozen different looks.
  • Dedicated Demo Forum -- To show off all the new presets and features, DarkTabbed will be getting its own demo forum where new presets will be added as they're released :-)
That's just some of what's in store. I'd also like to say thank you to each customer as you've been making DarkTabbed theme a joy to support and evolve over time!

Thank you for the mention, the new update should be coming out tomorrow so I'll be sure to include these fixes.

The update is now complete, however I'd like to wait until early tomorrow to release to fit in a bit more screen and device testing. As there's a lot of new Javascript and code changes, I'd like to make sure there's no bugs that slip through. This will be the last smaller update before the new overhaul changes begin.

@Nirjonadda your items have been included, the browser will now automatically scroll to fit the post perfectly below the sticky navigation.

There were a few bugs that turned up just before release so I'm wrapping up those and retesting before posting the file today. Thanks to any users for your patience!

Javascript Hotfix Update

This is a minor update for the latest DarkTabbed 3.0.7b, which fixes some instances of the Sticky Sidebar not aligning correctly at the bottom scrolled position during certain configurations.

You cannot use this hotfix with v3.0.6 or below.

You do not need to reimport your theme if you are running v3.0.7b nor download the latest file package. You may simply download the following hotfix:
https://www.nulumia.com/deploy/temp/nl_darktabbed3-0-7b2_xen1-5-14_hotfix.7z

@whitesky loving the new beta release! It got my logo working perfectly and I am sure you know who I am from that statement alone :p

Had no problem with install. It did unset my custom background, but as you mentioned in the post - that information was saved so it was simply the fact of clicking the button again. Nothing else was 'unset' by the upgrade to beta.

The only challenge I am experiencing, which I've tested with IE Chrome and FF, is the background slider function. When set, no matter what images are selected (default or my own), the background is simply black/empty. So it does not seem to be loading the rotational slider...?

I look forward to your continued development on this -- it's a stable, solid, attractive and (thanks to you) easily configurable theme especially for someone as un-tech-savvy as myself. I look forward to being able to collapse/expand forum categories but depending on the size of your forums - the side by side nodes is a NICE addition also.

One thing I wanted to ask you, because it would likely be a pain or impossible (unnecessary) to task to include in the theme.... if I wanted the ability to have nodes with personalized node icons (differentiated by the category they reside in) is there any add-on you suggest or ideas to make that a less painful task?

Thanks again and you're an insanely valuable asset to this community.

Thanks so much for your kind words and it truly helps make it more meaningful behind supporting these sort of products!

Firstly as for the background issue, I'll check into some various version numbers of the browsers and see if I can lock down where that issue is stemming from. Can't imagine not being able to patch that today if I locate any bugs.

The side by side nodes, collapsable categories and custom node icons admittedly have been on the backburner for a bit, as all features I develop end up trickling into every theme, and requires going back through and retesting/adding compatibility for everything. The crazy complex gaming themes end up causing most of this delay :-/. However everything is fairly built out and stable now that I can easily jump on the collapsable nodes and customizable icons.

Unless there's something else I missed, this addon https://xenforo.com/community/resources/custom-node-icon-icon-for-category.632/ does just that but it's currently unmaintained. I haven't tested this addon but could certainly add this into the style itself. I'm just debating whether this would be better as an addon or done via Style Properties as some other themes seem to do.

In the meantime though the collapsable nodes/widgets can likely make it into the next build.

Really looking forward to some of the new features in the works hope you continue enjoying the theme and what's in store :-).

New Global Border Radius setting now working, this has been a requested feature for a while :-). Simply type a value in pixel (4px) for the global setting and elements throughout the theme will have rounded corners. Elements individually can be edited via Style Properties to change from the global value.

Also shown is one of the new tileable background textures, there's currently 22 new dark presets to choose from, and a number of colored patterns in the works.

@Nirjonadda the theme has nothing to do with your images being secure or insecure. I use the theme and am fully secure without any issues or errors. I also use link and image proxy settings to ensure content remains secure throughout the site.

Simply move whatever images you want local. If you are using the default image links and so forth that are utilized in the theme from @whitesky save em local, point to your server path versus http and boom done.

I personally am against using default links for images and so forth because you cannot control them and/or if they stay or change.

That should help though.

@Nirjonadda, the unsecure images you're referring to are placeholder/demo background wallpapers. I cannot include the images in the theme package and sell it, as that would be copyright infringement. Before I was showing off the demo wallpapers from my secure server (https://nulumia.com) but stopped due to consuming server load as theme users were keeping the demo images and pulling from my server on countless hits.

For now though, I can switch the demo links to an https:// path, but again the user should be replacing these with their own images. The next update will have https demo content.
