[cXF] Conversation Button under Avatar 2.7.4

I just noticed a bug in 1.8.2. It goes away when I disable the add-on.

When starting a new conversation (originating from the Conversations page, not via button click related to the addon) after I click "Start A Conversation" it confirms the conversation was started (by the transparent drop down) but then does not take me to the conversation page, it leaves me sitting there on the editor page. So if I wasn't paying attention, I would think the conversation was not started and I would click the button again.

Disabling the addon eliminates the effect - clicking Start A Conversation reloads the page, showing the conversation as created.

Was this fixed in 1.9.0?

Why I don't see upload and preview buttons when using overlay feature?

• using an overlay feature have some limitations because this add-on is a template modification only. Upload and preview buttons won't be visible in overlay form and also in static page. If you don't allow users to upload files within conversations there won't be a problem at all. If you disable this feature you'll see both buttons back in static page.

When i disable this feature in the options, it will kill my style and all widgets in the sidebar.




Any idea ?

It's not a bug. From FAQ:

Why I don't redirect to conversation page after creating one?

• if you're using overlay function you won't be redirected to conversation page after creation, but will stay one same site, which is useful if you mostly send messages from postbit button. When you start a new conversation from conversation panel (or when clicking on default XenForo Start a Conversation link), you won't be redirected to conversation page too, but you'll get a quick notice in top of page that conversation has been created
• if you don't like what you've read above, you can still use default XenForo redirect behaviour by setting the correct option in style properties for this add-on

@BassMan I unserstand what you are saying but what I'm saying is that when you go to creating a conversation via the normal route, for instance, hover mouse over inbox, click "start a conversation" and go through all of that (NOT via clicking the conversation button created by this addon), when you click the button to submit the conversation, it does not take you anywhere. You stay on the editor page as if the conversation was never created. You can repeatedly click to start the conversation and it will not take you to the resultant created conversation afterwards. Then, if you go to your conversations/inbox, you will have started multiple identical conversations.

I understand you. If you want default Xenforo behaviour you need to uncheck the Redirect option.

Uncheck it and try. Sorry, these are limitations when using redirect option. So it's up to you if you want to use it.

If you want default Xenforo behaviour you need to uncheck the Redirect option.

That did it. Too bad there's not a way to isolate the redirect option for different circumstances

Strange. Please check template modifications for this add-on if all numbers are green. It works like it should on three sites I've tested.
