I have mine currently setup to only be a featured thread page. But when I enable the slider and feature one in the slider it pops up above my forum_list. Is there an option to keep it only on the dedicated featured thread page?

You can enable/disable the slider in the style properties.

In order to avoid any additional queries, the order is based on the slider settings:


If the slider is disabled then it defaults to featured date, descending.

I have the slider enabled for the page in the style properties and enabled in the options. I have updated a thread or two to be included in the slider. I see a page and I see featured threads, but no slider. Before I switched off the style property for forum_view and forum_list I had a slider. Where did it go?

Yep that was the problem. I mistakingly thought that having this option selected For Slider would provide the image for the slider:

Use Attached Image
For Icon For Background For Slider
Select the default settings for using the first attached image.

Can I run a query to delete all of the archived featured threads and member featured thread stats?

It's possible but why do you need to?

If you just want to reset everything, you can uninstall and reinstall - the code will gracefully delete all content.

Hi Brogan,

This morning I changed the CTA settings to delete the dedicated CTA homepage and have the featured threads appear as a slider at the top of the forums list. The site adjusted and it displayed it properly but it caused the XenCentral Ad Server to crash. Reversing the CTA settings got the featured content back to the CTA homepage but the ad server has stayed crashed...any ideas as to why or how to resolve this?

I have no idea how or why it would affect that, unless there is a JS conflict, due to the slider being used on the forum list.

Are there any errors generated?

You may need to contact the author of the ad server add-on for support.

looking into it further, the banner files are corrupted/crashed. deleting them and re-uploading them didn't fix the problem. i'll see what the folks at xencentral have to say about it. thanks

This add-on shouldn't really have any effect on that one - especially just disabling the home page and activating the slider on the forum list.

Neither of those really make any major changes to the site as the template modifications and code are already in place, you're just activating/deactivating stuff.

that's what I would have thought, everything has been stable for a while now so this is very surprising. i tried entering a new banner position and it didn't help. i tried creating the banner position from scratch and it didn't fix it. i'll head over to the xencentral area and see what they have to say about it
