XF 1.4 Creating a link from a page node

I'd like to create a page node with a link to a PDF user guide, similar to what you have done with the Xenforo Help & Manual link from a page node on this site.

Please can someone explain how this is done?

That's a link forum, not a page node.

Ah ok, that makes sense.
Now I have another question. The document I want to link to is a PDF file on my PC. How do I create a link?

You will need to upload the .pdf file to your server.
