Craziest Thing Someone's Done After Being Banned?

  • Threats to sue me (claiming I was bias and allowed others members to troll, causing emotional abuse)
  • Called my house at 2 - 3 am (demanding I delete their account & all proof of them being a member. I hung up)
  • Re-joined 53x (actual count) to troll another member
  • Attempted to hack my site
  • Posted junk on my Facebook and Google+ account.
  • Started up their own forum, re-joined, and privately convinced other member to join their site, claiming my policies were illegal & so was my site (they're not).
  • Called my house at 2 - 3 am, threatening to kill me (such a wonderful person, no?)
  • Filled my e-mail (2gb gmail account) with empty e-mails (no content).
  • User was an Admin on another site, who I helped, and was upset that I later merged a competing (but formally associated) site with my own. Wrongfully convinced others that I had stolen content. (You mad?)
  • Cracked my password, trolled my members "as me", and made an announcement that the site was closing and referred everyone else where (while I was on vacation)
  • Attempted to fake DMCA notices to my host (thank god my host, their upstream provider, ect... Could care less)
  • Posted my full name, address, and phone number on another site
  • Threaten to kill and harm my members & me, but claimed they would also sue me
  • Tried to convince other members (privately) that every other member was my AE (alter ego) and that there was no point in being a member on my site, since all you ever do is talk to me (figure that one out?)

OH! I thought I was alone. Minus the 2gb. Mine was just a couple 100mb and minus the gay porn, password, and DMCA notice! He didn't call me at home, he called me at work. lol

Grimey!!! I've been on some Xbox site where that happened. I don't know what all they deleted though because I wasn't a regular visitor. They had a essay about the drama as an announcement so everyone can see.

This is exactly why no one on my site other than myself, can hard delete anything. Soft delete only for everyone else.

In how many years span did all of this happen?
 
I had a similar situation, this was years ago, when 7 members were sending PMs to members with hardcore pornography, including pictures of necrophelia. I banned all seven. They launched massive DOS attacks, then put up web pages with my picture, name, home address and telephone number, encouraging their minions to rape and kill me. I contacted the DA. He advised me to file a complaint with the FBI. Before going that route I decided to just send a message to one of the creeps, telling him to take down his site "by sundown." He laughed, said "As if I'm going to just obey. And besides, you can't do anything, my site is running off a Malaysian server." I told him you WILL take it down because I will sue your ass for defamation and you're going to be paying me for the rest of your life (he knew I had his name and address). He tried to pass the whole thing off as satire. I told him "Satire only applies to celebrities or public figures, I'm a private citizen, you're violating my privacy and defaming me. Look it up. It's the law."

The site was gone by sundown :)

Yeah I've had people tell me that their sites were hosted in areas where US law did not apply. I told them I may not be able to have it removed but I can easily associate it with you and sue you.
That sounds terrible though >.< I could hardly deal with 2 idiots. I can't imagine 7.

That's what I told him. I said "The site may be running on a server in Malaysia but your ass is sitting in a chair in New York, and I will sue your ass."

Yeah, seven idiots, plus their minions. Fun stuff :rolleyes:

Wow, that sure is a handful there!

About the last one...that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that your user name is "TheVisitors", does it? :ROFLMAO:
 
lol... we deal with that stuff almost daily...
  • Death threats to staff
  • DDoS attacks (sometimes strong enough to brick upstream provider's routers)
  • Fake DMCA notices
  • We see roughly 50,000 hack attempts per day (no joke... mostly just scripts trying over and over)
  • Lawsuit threats (we get cease and desist letters from law firms about once a week)
  • etc...
My all time favorite I think was a Chinese user who tried to report us to the FBI because we violated his "right to free speech" because we deleted his spam. All the more ironic since he was in China. lol

Our Google Webmaster Tools console as so many URL removal requests made by other's it's silly... some people mad they posted their email and it comes up when searching it, others just try to make idiotic reasons to Google to remove our entire site from their index. Here's the latest... lol
