XF 1.2 Conversations not showing full content

My wife (an Administrator) receives private conversations with full messages as she should AND without full messages, just the title of the conversation. I have verified it as well, however doing two different test messages from myself to her it works, seems random? Is this a bug?

My settings are correct in the ACP.

Do you mean, more than one recipient in the conversation?

perhaps, honestly don't remember, but could have been 3 people on the convo. Would this be normal in this instance? That I would not see content?

Yes. Because the email would state you were added to the conversation, not that a reply was made.
