XF 2.1 Conversation Notification Emails not received

Hi,
I've had quite a few members contact me about this, and also seen it for myself now.
For some reason, with everything ticked, members are not getting email notifications when they get a PM.

I've checked my emails are working via tools, and also by creating a new user and seeing the welcome email come through. However nothing when a conversation is started.

Any ideas at all?

Is there anything in the server error log? It's strange that an email just wouldn't send. Have you tried it with all add-ons disabled?

I'm getting this but with thread watching notifications.

If there are no errors in the XF ACP log, the email has been handed off to the server.

After that it's something external to XF such as the email server, spam filters, etc.

Mines as it should be according to the guide.

Its strange as I do a test email to the user, and it works. Its just the emails about thread replies that are not getting through.
