XF 2.1 Conversation autocomplete not working

Typeahead (autocomplete) is not working whenever I send a PM. You will see the bold text below but it is only exactly what you are typing as you type and never shows a username.

Auto complete works fine here so you would need to troubleshoot that further really.

Correct! On mine it simply repeats what you are typing and never returns a result. Could this be caused by PHP version?

Nope.

Does it happen with any user? Specifically if you try it with a user who has been logged in recently, does their name appear? There is a “recently active” constraint so that might filter out some users.

That's exactly it. I recently imported from another software so a lot of regulars aren't active yet. Thank u.
