Content Blur Pro - Boost Registrations and Upgrades

Content Blur Pro - Boost Registrations and Upgrades [Paid] v2.5.10

No permission to buy ($40.00)
I had cleared the errors because I thought that is why the errors occurred and the have been none since.
Yeah, it's usually just a few errors that'll popup (from page requests while the installer is replacing template modifications etc), but you got a stream because you have a stream of requests during the upgrade. They're harmless, and like you noticed, only happened during the install. Just clear them and you'll be fine. Only thing you can really do is inactive the board during update or accept it'll happen (that's what I do).

You could try to only upgrade during off-peak hours, but honestly, not worth the trouble.

Argh, I just found a tiny issue with Content Blur where it'll render a thumbnail image when it should actually be the authorized full image.

I'm going to release a small update again :(

Sorry!

Hi @Wutime - I'm receiving the following error. It seems to be affecting random threads. Any idea what could be causing it?

Open src/addons/Wutime/ForceRegistrationBlur/XF/Pub/Controller/Thread.php, go to line 498, and swap the byte function for the UTF-8-aware one XenForo ships globally

The new version does not blur posts for guests it only obfuscates them
Are you sure, because I've tested thoroughly.

Are you setting blur globally in user permissions for "unregistered", or doing it for specific nodes using "node permissions"?

Hey, I missed this conversation, not sure why, but I'll release an update. Thanks for your patience @PrettyPixels , and thanks for your input @cloudpro

The only possible way this occurs is:
  • A) The Javascript is failing to load
  • Or B) you have an add-on that is poisoning the XF post html by distorting it, or failing to properly inject it's modifications
I can't think how to troubleshoot it without access to discover which is which, and why. Have you recently installed any post/thread related addons?

Hi Bro! I have seen - Blur posts in selected forums and threads in description & bought this addon, but after install, I can see option where I could select which thread to blur

@javakhir you should set forum permissions at the forum level: admin.php?permissions/nodes/

The above is the recommended way to manage blur, and requires: General Options > User Mode (advanced permission-based) (enabled)

----

If you're absolutely determined to manage blur on a thread by thread basis you can choose: General Options > Guest Mode (legacy mode) and then it will allow you to "Force blur on the following threads (by id)", but this is NOT recommended because "legacy" mode will be discontinued in the future.

I have 500 threads, but I want to blur only 3 of them for all members, only paid member could see them. I understood permission, but where should enable blur on selected thread?
if thread originally not blur, there is no sense to set bypass permissions

why not to make extra option:
where we can select included threads & deselect excluded threads
I forget why I moved away from allowing blurring individual threads; it was something to do with performance and to play well with how XenForo's concept of permissions work (forum permissions + node permisions).

I've revisit to see if there's a reasonable way to tackle this; but if memory serves it's not performant with xenforo's best practices.
