After an extended deep dive into a rabbit hole; this is a known issue with PayPal and WooCommerce and it's currently a known bug that's looking to be resolved in the next release.

Until such time, I've removed the express PayPal from my checkout and you'll have to use an alternate payment method.

I'll follow up on this issue in a few weeks to see if it's resolved; at which point I'll reinstate the purchase method.

I'm strongly considering removing the old "Guests" mode system in future releases. All features are supported with the permission-based system; the "Guests" mode is limited and missing features.

Please update to the "Users" permission-based system as soon as possible.

This update includes important updates and fixes for SEO:

• Add: New option to automatically load the upgrade overlay on blurred threads (default=off)
• Add: Context sensitive page cache bust for native XF page...

Yes, help. Just want all non registered or guests to see three posts. What are the settings? My registered users shoul see all.

I'll assume you meant you want "unregistered/unconfirmed" to see the first 3 posts; all registered users to see all posts as normal.

Step 1: Setup the Permissions

Registered Users

Probably already set from default install; but double-check.




Unregistered/Unconfirmed

• Can see first 3 posts per thread
• Can see faded article text

Step 2: Enable Advanced mode

Any thoughts as to why the 1st post is sometimes blurred? I would like it to always be unblurred. I have Redis disabled. I think it has to do with where you start counting posts. I haven't figured out why on some threads the 1st post is displayed above the page selector.

Question. I don't think it is your addon that puts the post above the page select block because it does not happen on all threads (I am still working on figuring out the logistics but I don't see it happening on a discussion thread). I just know that when the post is above the select block it confuses the blur count.

@Wutime I checked all my multi page discussion threads and the blur count is correct on all that I checked, both single and multi page.

Ah, that probably explains it. I needed special handling for Articles; similar is probably needed for Question threads. I'll look into it.

@Wutime I looked into this some more. These screen shots might help you. It looks like if the thread is a type Question, XF elevates the 1st post above a sort function that is not in a type Discussion.
