Constant down times - need host suggestion

My rule of thumb is to try to keep the server within 3,000 miles of the further regular user. That means UK may be OK for east coast users - given relatively few hops, but I would not want to go further.

Ideally, nimbus will eventually open an easy coast and maybe a TX data center and given their reputation for xenforo work, they will certainly have customers!

1/1000th of a second may not seem like very long, but you have to go back and forth many many times and it's just one part of the latency, so it ends up making a big difference in many cases. That's why the big guys build data centers within 100-200 miles or so of their big user bases (goog, FB, MS, etc.)..

Every year the end user expect more...and quicker. Goog sets the bar and soon everyone wants the whole web to load like that.

Depends if they can get the remote staff / reliability they have by being hands on here in the UK.

They have a good pool of people in Austin area to pull from. A LOT of companies are moving out of CA and to that area.
