MG 1.1 Conditional for category id?

good morning,

i guess the threads title says it all. the plan is when a user watches a video from category 1, banner x is displayed somewhere. in category 2 it will be banner y and so on.

basically just like showing different ads when reading threads in different forums. can this be done with a simple conditional? i searched a lot but sadly without success
