XF 2.1 Collapse ad blocks when no ad served?

We are running AdSense, and although they serve ads most of the time, there are some page loads where the ads are empty. Instead of showing the empty hunk 'o page, is it possible to collapse the block if the ad isn't served?

If I remember correctly there is a setting in AdSense which says "Don't display empty ads" or similar text.
