XF 2.1 Clicking on smilie button has no affect

That's not something I can personally reproduce and not something anyone else has brought up at this stage (and there have been no changes there in the last week or two).

Are you still able to reliably reproduce this? If so, is that with a specific browser/OS? Does using a different browser make any difference?

With Firefox and the dev tools open, do you see anything logged in "Console" when clicking on the smilie button?

Can you add:
PHP: 
$config['development']['fullJs'] = true;
To src/config.php and then perform the same thing again? This will tell us exactly where that code is that is going awry.
