XF 2.2 Child style templates to parent?

I have a custom parent style and a custom child style. I ended up making a lot of extra changes to the child which I would prefer to use instead at this point.

What is the most efficient way to have the parent backwards-inherit the child template edits? Or is copy and pasting the only option?

If you export the child style and check the box "export as independent style", it'll essentially bundle all your changes into the parent. Then just import the new XML.
