Yasi has caused a lot of damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure (the Queensland Government really needed that one), but on the bright side has been downgraded to Cat 4 as it moves inland. No reports of fatalities yet, though apparently it's totally chaos in some of the affected regions.

For those wondering, another hot, humid, windless day expected down here in NSW (still dark out so who knows, might go and check if the bogans thieved off with my letterbox shortly).

Being somewhat overshadowed are full scale bush fires down south in Victoria, just what they need after flooding affecting other parts of the State.

it turned out to be not much of anything really.
some trees and powerlines blown down, some wheelie bins in the street, and thats about it.
the news readers can barely contain their disappointment.

Yeah noted that on the morning news. They were interviewing some bloke who had to keep telling them that besides no power his house was fine.
