XF 1.1 Cannot Rebuild Templates - Unknown Tag Callback

Hi guys,
Got an issue where i accidently tried to upgrade an addon which must have been for 1.2 via @Chris Deeming 's addon installer.

When it gets to rebuilding the templates, i come across this error :
An error occurred or the request was stopped.

and then to a page that says :
Error
Line 3: Unknown tag: callback

This issue has been documented in the following thread:

I have tried to disable all addons and then tried to rebuild the templates and so forth but i still come across that issue.

It seems me that the offending code must be in the cache or something...is there anything i can do to fix this up so i can build the templates properly? As it is right now i am seeing:
- TMS - modifications not being applied and rebuild needed.
- Widget Framework showing blank screen..and despite the widgets showing up the screen to do anything is blank.
- Unable to rebuild templates..so adding any addons or upgrading is impossible.

The issue does not leave a error in the server logs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have a recent backup? If so it might be a good idea to restore from your backup.

unfortunately no i dont

was hoping that there was a way to bypass the issue by deleting it from the cache or wherever the offending code is.
