can twitter generate web traffic to your site?

Neither twitter nor facebook can generate web traffic for Chinese site.Because both of them are blocked here.haha

again, twitter has an incredible potential to increase the traffic onto our sites ... but at the moment, isn't well-knew, especially in Italy ... unfortunately italians use facebook primarily ...

Twitter depends on your niche; more technically inclined niches are more likely to use Twitter. As I mostly target anime and gaming, and rarely design/development as my niche, I tend to have a high adoption rate, and a high follow rate from my users.

Another way I increased my users follow rate was offering contests (For the game server) where if they followed our account, and responded to something, we'd run a limited time event (This was long before all these free MMO's started copying us ).
