Resource and add-on releases [2.x]
There should be prefixes here "2.2", "2.3" etc
Because now everything is grouped together in a "2.x" and that is ok for a major separation with 1.x but not enough when 2.2 add-ons often don't work in 2.3
You can keep your current custom field for granular compatibility and still have a prefix for the most prominent one.Add-ons can work in multiple versions so a single prefix would be inaccurate.
Add-ons also have multiple versions and history, denoting the XF versions they are compatible with.
But that will never happen cosadmin made his mindthere is no multiple prefix functionality.
Not implementing something != saying it won't be implemented. It has been brought up multime times and each time is killed because a drop-down of checkboxes is inconceivable.
This would be a step in the wrong direction. What happens when someone has a feature request or bug report? Are we expecting the end users to search and/or make reports or requests in each thread now, for a single add-on? The same for reviews. There is no case I can think off where having separate threads for a single add-on would be beneficial to anyone (developer or user). The benefits come from a centralized location to discuss a single add-on, no matter how many XenForo versions it supports.Let them make a thread for each version.
I give up..good luck with the site.
could not a custom field be used for those areas? It has been brought up multime times and each time is killed because a drop-down of checkboxes is inconceivable.
No.There should be prefixes here "2.2", "2.3" etc
xfVersions2).Except that's not universally true. Any that used JQuery break but many others do not. A number of add-ons on my site work fine without updating. The plugins for xf 2.2.x do not work on xf 2.3.x
