Barefooting

Not wearing shoes just saved the laundry from a soaking as the skies opened overhead and I dashed out to grab it :)

I could never do that, we have the drive between the garden and house and it's exposed aggregate slabs, very painful to walk on barefooted.

BTW flip-flops are not a good alternative for regular shoes or barefooting: http://www.livescience.com/health/080624-bad-flip-flops.html
That article does seem to pin itself to the idea that flip flops are going to fall off unless you grip them with your toes while stepping - which mine certainly don't. In essence, the article boils down to a warning about badly-fitting footwear, and everyone knows that causes problems, regardless of whether it's flip-flops or any other kind of shoe.

For my part, I ensure that anything I wear on my feet is well-fitted, isn't going to fall off, and allows me to walk as naturally as is possible to do in footwear.

I wore flip flops to a theme park for a good part of the day. Didn't have a single problem, roller coasters and all. :D

Theme parks are great places to go barefoot, especially on roller coasters where your feet hang down in mid-air, like Nemesis at Alton Towers. Doing so adds an extra facet of perceived vulnerability to the ride, and makes the experience that much more intense.
