XF 1.5 Automatic Image Resize

Hello,

some of our users like to upload their 5 MB pictures directly from their smartphone to the forum and do not understand much about the handling and problems of big images. The actually configured limit is around 1 MB.

Question: Is there any function available to reduce image size and space automatically?

Don't set such a small file size; instead set that larger and set a maximum width and height -- this will automatically resize images to within those dimensions.

Thank you. This is relevant for attached files? But what about the media gallery, where do I configure this, in the user rights?

Yes, XFMG supports the same thing. It depends how you have set it up in the options but you can do it there or in permissions.
