XF 2.0 Auto scale attachments?

Is it possible to auto scale down attachments that are too large? Users are uploading HD iPhone photos which are very large, so it doesn’t work. If this is not possible, what is a recommended maximum size to allow? Is 8mb too high?

I think it is the file size that is preventing them from being able to post their images.

Edit: I understand. By limiting the pixels, the file size also gets smaller.
