XF 2.1 Auto-reply to first post

In my forum, we have an Introductions section. I prefer it if members introduce themselves first before posting elsewhere. As it stands, members welcome that new person with their own messages. What I would love to do is, using some automated system, reply to their post with the rules of the forum, link to the FAQ etc.

Is there a way to do this?

Workflow: Person posts intro thread > instant auto reply with rules, FAQ etc. i.e. Persons post is #1 in thread, my auto reply is #2 post, any other replies from other members are #3 upwards.

You could use the new user welcome message upon registering and then in that message link to your rules and the FAQ.

ACP then options, then user registration.

Not sure what the next version will do? It does exactly what you want now though. 1.0.1 = keyword optional.

Does it not look for specific keywords? What if someone just posts, I am Dave and hope to enjoy myself here.

They could post anything as a first message.

Leave the keyword field blank and it replies to the 1st post every time.

The free way is use the built-in system to send a welcome PM or email with the rules. Or decide if $30 is worth the money for the exact solution you want.

That link looks familiar. I think I asked about it before. Wonder if it still works on 2.1. It says for 2.0.
