Is there a plugin or other reliable method to change a post's author and post date?

Editing the DB is fine, but I'm not sure what's connected to what.

You can edit the associated record in the xf_post table. But there may be unintended consequences, such as affecting the order of posts in a thread.

Everything will be edited in sequence so the post order should work itself out. Is it really as easy as

Can this be edited within Xenforo or is this something related to the server database?
Can you explain an easy way to do that for a newbie which has very few knowledge about databases?
