National condiment - if it isn't vegamite/marmite, then I don't know. *trying to think what all was on the restaurant tables* Hmmm, nope, drawing a blank there. Actually I would think it was beer, and I will also note that if anyone is setting up a new office in Oz they could probably save a ton of money by just locating it in the corner booth of the local pub, since that's where all the real action will take place anyway.

For those of you in Melbourne - is there still a slot machine (fruit machine? or is that just the U.K.?) in the casino called "Panther Magic"? I got really lucky on that one, I highly recommend it. :D

Poker Machine. I think you mean the Black Panther which is a $1 machine. IIRC you get free spins from three dice and a panther roars and substitutes for anything (except dice).

No, it was definitely Panther Magic, because that was the reason I chose it in the first place, and also it became a general catch phrase that was used long afterwards... like, if I was waiting in the rain for a taxi without much hope of really getting one, and one did come by, we'd say "Panther Magic!"
