Apple's patent claims vs. Samsung.

Part 2: Samsung sues Apple

Samsung plans to use LTE patents to sue Apple over next-gen iPhone

If you thought Apple’s victory last week was the end of the fighting between it and Samsung, think again. Samsung is still expected to file an appeal on the ruling, and an injunction hearing has already been set.

On top of that, Samsung is said to be gearing up for a major legal counter attack, preparing “all measures for all scenarios” to fight Apple in 50 patent disputes in 10 countries. In other words, “it’s on…”

The Korea Times reports that Samsung plans to sue Apple immediately following the release of the next-gen iPhone if it contains LTE technology. Apparently Samsung owns a large share of LTE-flavored patents.

More than likely the same result.... Apple will make billions from the next iphone, Samsung sue... years later they pay Samsung a billion back, then they appeal that... and round the merry go round this goes.

Apple should just buy Samsung out... they could do that with their wealth compared to Samsungs.

Both true.
It's also true the Samsung phones are 99% Apple inspired.
Is that fair ?
Absolutely. I think it's also fair to say that 99% of all smartphones nowadays are Apple inspired if you consider that the iPhone 1 was the first of its kind. Before that Nokia and Blackberry were the benchmark. Do you remember how Nokia phones used to look like?

When Big Company X sues Big Company Y ... it's usually about money.
Apple wanted Samsung to pay licensing fees.
In part to raise the price of Samsung products.
Sort of like an Android Tax.

Samsung is making record profits, they sure can afford the Apple lawsuit.
I find "what is fair" in the case very hard.
And I usually TRY to "make a call" about everything ! :)
