Problems started when I upgraded centmin from old versions to your new git thing (which was a cool idea, actually). Not sure if there was something wrong that happened in the process.

The process should work fine http://centminmod.com/upgrade.html unless you have a very very old version of Centmin Mod like <1.2.3-eva2000.06 and lower as there were huge changes in .08 and up when git update was introduced http://centminmod.com/changelog.html i.e. ssl cipher preference updates and some port whitelisting for git support = http://centminmod.com/upgrade.html#olderupdates
