Any plans for a CMS?

The reason i still haven't moved to xenForo is that you guys do not have an IP.Content replacement...

Are there any plans for it?

Personally....

I think Wordpress should just come out with a really awesome forum. They spend all their time developing bbpress and it sucks! Doesn't even work with certain themes and it isn't even fun to use.

Honestly... I don't see why everyone has such a huge hardon for Wordpress.

Only the mod and style community make up for how bloated and disgustingly bad their platform is. And even then they've managed to alienate a lot of the premium products due to their crusade to make everything free.

Then why do sites run on CMS's. Why don't they run on forum software? It's because CMS's are needed and forum software alone can't handle the job. Wordpress powers almost 30% of the entire Internet now. That's not chump change. Thousands of site owners are looking for a well-coded bridge from Wordpress into Xenforo. The developer who comes up with a proper solution will be very rich indeed.
Congrats on completely missing the point of my post.

I am in favor of CMSes like Joomla and Drupal and Blog/Content sites like Wordpress. I just don't see why you need one-for-one parity with all the usergroups and permissions between the forum and the main site. Most sites have maybe 5-10 people maintaining the CMS.

I'm new to xenForo, and was about to pull the trigger on buying VB but have now decided that XF is much nicer and I'm about to purchase it. I've been trying to learn the ropes and features of XF and noticed digitalpoint is using XF now.... What are they using for their homepage? Seems like a CMS solution that looks nice?

As a style designer, hell no.

Adding this to core or even releasing it as separate package will mean that styles will have to support it. That's a lot of extra work and I'd rather switch to designing WordPress themes than styles for forum + CMS.

How is that different than designing for the forum and RM now? Or even supporting the most popular add-ons?

I imagine like the RM, a CMS would utilize XenForo's style properties and design standards making the presentation of the CMS consistent with the rest of the software. Using your argument, it would mean XF shouldn't release any other add-ons because it creates more work for designers.

Damn... looks pretty sweet... @digitalpoint is on it, one of the reasons I found XF and considered it. Is it released as a mod anywhere by DP?
Going to hopefully release some more stuff after XF 1.2 comes out, but to be honest our homepage thing isn't a CMS at all... it's really just a feed aggregator (mostly RSS), and internally it's really ugly/kludgey with it's parsing logic. Someday maybe I'll clean it up (right now it has a bunch of hard-coded one-off rules for some of the feeds), but right now it would be a support nightmare for anyone trying to use it for anything other than the feed sources we use.

Have you seen simple portal http://xenforo.com/community/resources/simple-portal.1713/?
It's very similar to DPs landingpage

Any new features coming? This is looking like a pretty good option for a basic CMS. Maybe add a few more homepage configurations like being able to show the first two posts from each category, etc. More of a magazine/newspaper style layout with defined category sections on the home page instead of just a running list of the latest posts.

We want to wait for xenforo 1.2 to be able to test our new scripts and features before we post all the GREAT news & announcements.

But i think it's ok to show some screenshots and changes from the upcoming changes and projects:)

I would suggest to keep a eye on http://xenforo.com/community/threads/simple-portal.48572/page-7
