For member profiles, is there a permission set that allows profiles to be ONLY visible to members and not guests?

Okay great because people get really weird with everyone being able to see their page....

IS there a friend's feature as well that makes profiles visible only to friends(or followers) and disallows Conversations from Non-Followers/Friends

Yes there is.

You can see that on these very forums. If you hover over your username, and go to Privacy, these options are there.
