XF 1.4 Animated Mini-Me Image and Avatars

Hello Gang,

I was wondering if there is a way to keep the Mini-Me Image avatars and the avatars shown next to the threads in the list from being animated while keeping avatars in the threads and profiles animated?

The images are prepared while adding the avatar, the animations are retained if Imagick is enabled, custom coding can be used to force GD to be used to process the small avatars that are used in thread listing, which do not allow animations by default.
Or maybe something like this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3688460/stopping-gif-animation-programmatically though I would prefer the first method.

owh... its a PHP class which renders the avatars. You'll need intermediate PHP knowledge to make the necessary changes.
