When a post gets 4 likes, it says:
"A, B, C and 1 other person like this post"

It's little waste of resources to fetch the like list just to see one more person.
Since there is only one more, it could be simply "A, B, C and D like this post"

The same argument could be made if there were 5 likes.
Why do A, B, C, D and 1 other person rather than A, B, C, D and E?

A cut off has to be set at some value and it was set at 3.

is there a way to alter the cutoff value? for example, if i wanted to display the name of 6 users who liked the post before cutting it?
