i have just woke up and went to check my forum and i get a blank page saying

An unexpected database error occurred. Please try again later.

i have a database backup from early yesterday but thats minus about 500 posts

any ideas? thanks.

You need to contact your host. They removed InnoDB. That's not cool.

thanks, i just contacted them. So would Xenforo not be able to function without InnoDB?

Most of the tables are InnoDB.

i just tried using my backup to see if it will work and it did its working right now, i checked the database that it was using and it has somehow shrunk to 3.95mb any ideas of what could of caused this so i can prevent it in the future? Thanks.

Did you make any changes between it working and not working?

Upgrades, add-ons, etc?

You could also compare the 2 databases to see what the differences are - missing or truncated tables for instance.

nope, it was working last night when i went to bed but when i woke up this morning it was giving that error

In which case I would contact your host to see if there was some kind of server related issue as under normal circumstances that shouldn't happen.

Well you can simply restore the non-working database to a different database and do a side by side comparison.
Assuming of course your hosting account allows for multiple databases.

Otherwise you can always install XAMPP and do it locally.
