But that's exactly the problem.
If the developers simply rendered the other way around, i.e. from the lowest possible value first, the problem would be solved and the mobile style would be faster than the desktop style. Mobile is far more important today than it was 10 years ago.

Until the developers have solved that, something like AMP is the solution. Even if it only shows a reduced scope and therefore generates more speed, it is exactly what many need. Users of ~ mobile phones want content to be presented quickly, which Google is trying to achieve with AMP. AMP does that, Google rewards the additional speed, so users, Google and operators are satisfied.

Your other statements on this are imho not relevant because that can be realized through a simple option.

Render from large to small or vice versa. So all the worlds would have met their needs. Those who want to render graphics-heavy on the desktop style as well as those who prefer speed on mobile phones.

The branding of our forum is not much less recognizable with AMP than without AMP.
