XF 1.5 Allow guests to view attachments?

Is there a way to do this just for one specific thread?

Maybe you could edit the posts in the thread, and have the attachments inserted as full images rather than thumbnails?

I've done that, but that doesn't allow guests to view it.

Permissions only go down to node level, not individual threads.
