Alerts

I received an email alert of a reply to a thread I am watching. I viewed the thread. Then a little later I noticed the Alerts option on the top right corner of the interface. It still had the alert there for the thread I already viewed (and that had not since been updated). I would think that the alert for the thread should go away the minute you visit it.

How soon can we expect this to be achieved? It's been 2 years!

I believe viewing a thread removes alert, but if it was an alert for a quoted post it doesn't disappear.
